Testimonials

Here's what some of our clients are saying about our Newport Beach, CA clinic.

When I was a little girl my mother said, "always sit up straight" and taught me to walk balancing a book on my head when I was young. I never really had conscious thought of posture again after that, despite its importance in my sport of equestrian showjumping. After years of compiling a list of injuries, from traumatically broken legs to torn rotator cuffs, whiplash and a total hip replacement, I assumed that some level of "arthritic" discomfort was natural. I believed I felt pretty good with only minor aches and pain, and only checked out Egoscue on a friend's recommendation in hopes of helping a relative. She was suffering from truly debilitating back pain, to the extent it was dramatically curbing her activity and impacting the quality of her life.

What a fantastic surprise it was to find I could feel better. I've read the books, met with the clinicians in Newport Beach and followed a variety of menus for about 6 months. Now I feel a tremendous improvement in my physicality. I seldom have any pain at all, despite participating in a sport that punishes mistakes and maintaining a demanding workout and life schedule. I feel taller, straighter, more limber. Without changing anything else in my exercise routine, I now feel my walking stride is longer and "swingy-er" and my legs are in longer, stronger contact with my horse when I ride. I run up the stairs and skip down them - even mundane chores are more enjoyable when one feels good!

And, my relative is working with Egoscue via Skype to reduce her pain and experiencing results too!

Eat, sleep and Egoscue those are the three things I've done every day for the past six months. I haven't missed one day of my Egoscue menus and I look forward to towering about 3-4 days a week. I looked into Egosque after trying most everything else. I'm what Mita, my therapist, described to me as an "and" patient. I've struggled with back pain for nearly 4 years, my treatment began like most people experience an occasional Tylenol and massage, and escalated to MRI and discography, and steroid injections, and ice, and physical therapy, and acupuncture, and chiropractor, and swimming, and Pilates all the while the next thing would give me the hope that I would be pain free, even with my commitment to each program I couldn't achieve sustained pain reduction.

An MRI says I have a bulging disc in my lower back and the pain can go as high as an 8/10 to a 3 on a daily basis. A surgeon told me to have the disc removed and the vertebrae fused and that would correct the problem. When I asked about being pain free, he replied "it's really a coin flip." Being the type of guy not to leave my wellbeing to chance I pushed on to other avenues.

I've always been active and not being able to do the things I love took its toll, not just physically but mentally too, I wouldn't call it depression but more of a sense of helplessness. What frustrated me was the somewhat all-consuming thought of doing something to cause more pain, knowing now, the lack of movement added to the root cause. With modern advancements in medical treatments one might expect a more holistic approach to treat both the symptoms and underlying root cause, I'm here to tell you it doesn't work that way.

While I can't say Egoscue has gotten me to be pain free yet, and I stress yet in that statement. I am so much more self-aware of my movement, posture and body position. I'm proud to say that my pain is very manageable with the highest getting to a 3 and most days less than that.

Being a very goal oriented individual I've committed to myself to continue with daily e-cises for 365 days in a row, no days off, no cheating but rather investing in my wellbeing. When I attend appointments Mita, Elliott and Britney are all super positive and supportive and send a encouraging emails and voicemails to check in on me. Thank you for my progress and I look forward to more of it!
